I don’t really know what these “Ectomorphic Maws” by Battle Yak Miniatures are supposed to be and I don’t think I will ever find a use for them in a game, but they look fanastic, so I had to print and paint a pair of them.

I’m glad you did! They look outstanding, and so does the rest of your stuff.
As to what they are, they’re basically ghosts! Hungry ghosts out to swallow up the living. These two sculpts represent kind’ve ‘before’ and ‘after’ – about to swallow an unlucky adventure with their massive maw, and after having done so with the adventurer struggling within their rubbery ectoplasmic gullet. If anyone was ever hoping to visibly represent their players getting eaten alive by a floating ghost-bag, Battle Yak has got you covered!
